OVERVIEW
Orcanos allows controlling when each Section and the fields underneath it will be editable for a User or Group.
This feature is usable when we want to control users editing some of the fields depending on the Work Item status(es). It also allows users to provide a process-like flow that allows editing a form’s section, based on progress done and/or by different users in each status. This way, specific sections become editable based on Status changes like advancement, moving forward until the end of a process where the signature and routing section are last, changing the item’s status to complete and frozen status.
By default, sections are enabled for all status(es)
DEFINE SECTIONS CONTROL
In order to allow the section to be editable only for the specific status(es)
- Select Fields Layout(eform) from the System Customization Section of the Admin Page.
- Select the required work item from the selection list
- Click on the Edit icon corresponding to any listed sections
- In the Manage Section pop-up, user see the 2 options
- Always Enabled (Default Selected)
- Enable Editing only for Statuses: (List all the statuses for the selected work item type)
[On-Create] is the special option in the selection list, which is selected by default in case user has some mandatory rule defined for any of the fields listed in the selected section
- Mandatory Field Rule without Extend Condition – The default selection is “[On Create]” and it is disabled
- Mandatory Field Rule with Extend Condition – The default selection is “[On Create]” and it is editable
- Users can select one or more status(es) from the selection list
- Info icon gets displayed corresponding to each section for which section control is defined with the tooltip listing the status(es) selected
WORK ITEM OVERVIEW
In case the user has defined the Section control in the Admin
- The Selected status is chosen in the “Enable Editing only for Statuses” list
- All the Fields under the selected section are editable
- The section is marked with the GREEN band on the extreme right side
- The Selected status is not chosen in the “Enable Editing only for Statuses” list
- All the Fields under the selected section are NOT editable
- The section is marked with the LIGHT GREY band on the extreme right side
- An info icon is displayed with the tooltip listing the status(es) for which the selected section is editable
- [On Create] status is applicable when the user adds the new work item but is not yet saved and hence, created.
Status and Name Field is always editable irrespective of section control defined
In case the user has not defined the Section control in the Admin
- All the fields under the selected section are editable
- No Colour band is displayed
