The checkout option enables you to lock an item. Once the item is checked out, no other user can make modifications to it.
To check out an item
1. Select the required item from the Product Tree.
2. Right-click and select Check Out. This displays the 
icon adjacent to the checked-out item and the Lock By field is automatically updated with the logged-in user name.
3. When another user logs in to modify the checked out item, the icon is displayed adjacent to the item.
Note: An item that is locked by a user cannot be edited if locked in parallel by another user.
To check-in an item
1. Select the required item from the Product Tree.
2. Right-click a checked out item (with checkout indication ) and select Release Checkout.
The lock icon will be removed
Note: this option is not possible for items that are checked out by another user.
