How to make  shortcut panels using Google Slides

Slide Creation

  1. Create a Google slide
  2. Design the slide as you see fit with icons, background, etc.

Note: To avoid the black-colored sections:

Pay attention to the slide aspect ratio, as this will affect the size of the black background on the sides of the slide. You can amend the slide aspect ratio to handle this.

 

In the Google Slides screen, click on Menu, then click on Page Setup.

Change the values and play with them until they fit properly. Full panel, medium, or small size have different aspect ratios, and the number of shortcuts also affects the page size that is required.

  1. Put clear titles for each of the shortcuts you want to create
  2. Make sure it is hosted on the Customer’s Gdrive
  3. Make sure permission is changed to ‘Anyone with this link’, so all employees will have access to it
  4. Select each title or even better the shape or an object you have created, and apply a URL for each.

 

URLS rules

  • URL for item that is displayed in the tree 

You can take the URL from the Locate on Tree icon by right-clicking it and choosing the option of copy link address

Make sure to see the string ProductTree? There, in its the appropriate place.

  • URL for item in the pool  ( from the Get Link icon)

  • URL for a work item on the work item view

Example: https://app.orcanos.com/[account_name]/web/428/QPackItems/Listing?Item=DEFECT

 

  • URL  for Create a new item

Ensure that the URL includes “Manage?” and also the code (e.g. SRS/COMP) of the work item.

  • URL for Create Item from Template (New URL from 5.2.6 build 12 only)

Panel creation

  • Add an iframe panel to the dashboard in Orcanos.
  • Give this panel a name
  • Past the slide URL
  • Change the url of the slide so the slide will be displayed in Slides show mode and not edit mode

Make sure to replace the slide URL with this string embed?  Instead of the edit# that is placed there.
