OVERVIEW
This feature enables users to set a default value for numeric fields.
It allows users to mark numeric fields as not relevant, indicating for example that a test was not applicable rather than forgotten.
This feature is available from version 5.2.6
SETTING UP NUMERIC FIELDS: NOT APPLICABLE STATE
- Navigate to Admin > System Configuration > System settings .
- Enable the Numeric Fields: Not Applicable state.
You can customize and select the text that will be shown for the ‘NA’ state.
- Navigate to Admin > System Customization > Fields Layout.
- Choose the work item that has the numeric field you want to set to ‘NA’ (Not Applicable). Then, click the ‘Edit’ icon next to that field.
- Enable ‘Not Applicable’ State (the text entered by the user in the System setting appear within the quotes).
You can also enable the ‘Set as Default Value’ checkbox. If it is selected, the default value gets displayed in the numeric fields. It is highly recommended not to use this option due to regulatory compliance reasons. Automating the marking of fields as ‘NA’ could lead to compliance issues, as it may imply that the user did not check or consider the relevance of those fields.
-
If the “Enable ‘Not Applicable’ State” checkbox is checked and the “Set as Default Value” checkbox is unchecked:
- The Not Applicable checkbox appears in the numeric fields on the Work Item Overview page.
- You can either check the checkbox to use the default value or enter any numeric value manually.
-
If both the “Enable ‘Not Applicable’ State” and “Set as Default Value” checkboxes are checked:
- The Not Applicable checkbox appears in the numeric fields on the Work Item Overview page, pre-filled with the default value.
- You can uncheck the checkbox and enter any numeric value manually.
The “Not Applicable State” functionality cannot be enabled if the “Calculations” are enabled in the fields and it is vice versa.
